WHAT CERTIFICATIONS DOES YOKUU HAVE?

At YOKUU, we believe cleaning should be gentle on your home, your health, and the planet - with 1 billion cleaning helpers in every product. We know we’re not perfect (every business leaves a footprint), but we’re working step by step to make better choices: from safer ingredients to reducing our impact and giving back to our community.

Of course, it’s one thing to say this, but... how can we actually show it?

That’s where certifications come in. They give an independent check that we’re on the right track, and show clearly what we stand for.

Here’s where we stand today:

Air Label Score A+

All three of our core cleaners - Multi-Purpose, Bathroom, and Glass Cleaner - as well as the Floor Cleaner, Allergen Spray, Clothing Refresher & Air Freshener received the highest possible rating (A+) from Air Label Score.

Independent labs tested our products in closed chambers over 28 days, following strict ISO standards (ISO 16000 series). Results were compared against more than 125 international health standards from over 50 countries. The outcome was clear: our products showed very low indoor air emissions, far below the strictest limits.

To give you an idea: the total VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in our Multi-Purpose Cleaner measured 28.1 micrograms per cubic metre. The A+ limit is 4000 micrograms per cubic metre. The same test showed zero formaldehyde and no harmful residues.

This matters because we spend around 85% of our time indoors, and indoor air can be up to eight times more polluted than outdoor air. What you spray, you breathe in... so clean air is non-negotiable.

B Corp

YOKUU is very proud to be a Certified B Corporation.

This certification looks at our entire business: from how we treat our team, to how we source materials, package products, and engage with our community. To qualify, a company needs at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment. YOKUU scored 94.8.

That score isn’t a finish line, it’s a baseline. Every three years, we’ll be reassessed, and we have to show we’re improving, not standing still.

Certified Vegan (V-Label)

Our core cleaning products - Multi-Purpose, Bathroom, Glass, Dishwasher, and Floor Cleaner - are officially Certified Vegan by the European Vegetarian Union.

That means no animal-derived ingredients, and no animal testing. Our microbes come straight from nature, not from animals.

1% for the Planet

Since 2022, we’ve been a member of 1% for the Planet.

That means we donate 1% of our annual revenue (not profit, but revenue) to environmental causes we believe in. Revenue is the top line, so this commitment applies no matter what.

A work in progress

Certifications won’t solve everything, but they help keep us honest and transparent. They give you (and us) some peace of mind that an independent body has checked the facts of what we're saying. And we’ll keep adding to the list as we grow.

We’re also looking at other certifications, and weighing up which ones make sense for us and our products. Sometimes innovation moves faster than legislation, so not every label is a good fit right away. What matters is finding the ones that actually add value and keep us accountable.
