Pssst... Here's the answers you're looking for

Hey, I'm Joris - the founder of YOKUU!

Whilst writing my bio-engineer thesis, I discovered that 99% of bacteria are healthy... So why are we so obsessed with killing them?
Here's a couple of our most frequently asked questions:

+ What kinds of stains does it work on?

The Stain Whisperer loves anything alive - or once alive. Think wine, fat, blood, coffee, grass, sauce, baby’s first carrot puree... If it comes from nature, it’s fair game. For inorganic stuff like ink or paint, it’ll try, but those aren’t its favourite conversation partners. Luckily, 98% of stains are organic - and this whisperer’s an expert at those.

To avoid unexpected stains or fabric damage, we recommend not using the stain remover in the following situations:

  • ❌ On sunscreen stains (especially mineral sunscreens with zinc or titanium dioxide) - these can react with the active oxygen and cause orange stains.
  • ❌ On delicate fabrics like wool, silk, or leather - the high pH and bleaching agents may damage the fibres.
  • ❌ On metal parts of clothing (buttons, zippers) - avoid direct contact, as oxidation may occur.
  • ❌ For soaking longer than 1 hour - this increases the chance of discolouration, especially on white fabrics.
  • ❌ With hot water - lukewarm water works best. Hot water can speed up unwanted reactions.

+ Is it suitable for both white and coloured laundry?

The Stain Whisperer comes in two versions: one for whites and one for colours. The white version includes a natural bleaching boost (soda + oxygen) to brighten and keep whites white. The coloured version is a little gentler, without bleach - so your colours stay vivid. White gets bright, colour stays colour. Now that’s whisper-work.

+ How do I use it?

The Stain Whisperer adapts to your cleaning mood.

Use A – for the lazy cleaners: Add one tablespoon (30g) to the detergent drawer, with your usual detergent. Use two for heavy stains.

Use B – for the semi-motivated: Dissolve 1 tablespoon in 2L of warm water and soak for up to an hour.

Use C – for the precise ones: Mix ½ tbsp with water, apply to the stain, let sit for 5 mins, then wash as normal. Check the pack for more.

+ How long should it soak in?

Depends on the method. For direct treatment (C), let it sit for at least 5 minutes—longer for tough stains. For soaking (B), up to 1 hour. In the machine (A), it does the work while you relax.

+ Does it work at low temperatures?

Yes, even at 30°C or colder. Enzymes break down stains at low temps, while the bacteria keep cleaning, removing odours and improving hygiene in your drum and on fabrics. It’s a deep clean on eco mode.
